day 307: urban nature #2

Yesterday I was walking around in the neighbourhood towards an area that I didn’t know yet. Just as I walked past the gate of the school next door I realised that it was open. Of course I had to sneak in and take some pictures. Since I like taking pictures of empty areas that have a significance only to the people who go there daily, I was particularly happy to find that this school looks rather run down in parts. Here I especially like the reflection of the trees in the window.

  3. The shapes are fantastic, too!
It’s incredible how much those two ‘smaller’ windows change the feel of that facade…
seems like it would be a completely different shot without them…🙂

    • Thanks🙂 I really tried to make this smaller window pop, because it gives the picture a special something. Nice that you noticed it!

    • Thanks! I’m happy about how it turned out as well. It’s one of these pictures that wouldn’t have come about if I didn’t have a tendency to go to places where I’m not supposed to be.🙂

Please keep posting. It helps enliven other artists or people who simply enjoy the art of observing/noticing.
I found your blog by searching “urban nature” that you and I have both titled a series of our postings.  I want to link your urban nature series to mine, but only found #2. Will you please send me links to the others?
Your images inspire me to post my own photos at a blog that I have so far dedicated only to experimental–mostly minimalist–video.

    Thank you for sharing.

    • Thanks, it’s always great to hear that my pictures manage to inspire someone! For more of my pictures about urban nature check out this link: https://experimentsinexperience.wordpress.com/?cat=863101

There are two pictures titled urban nature, but I’ve explored the theme in a few more pictures as well. I just hadn’t created a category yet, which obviously makes them hard to find!

Maybe send me a link to your series as well?🙂

        Thanks for the link–so fast!
Yes, I know what you mean–images and explorations can have overlapping categories.
Here’s a link where you can find my “urban nature” and other titles:

      • Thanks for the link. An interesting approach, definitely! I don’t know anything about video, so this is entirely new to me.🙂
